Preparing your home is one of the most important steps when prepping for your photoshoot.  Consider these steps to help ensure that you will have the best results possible.

General:

  • Clean home prior to photoshoot
  • Declutter and hide personal effects
  • Vacuum, sweep and mop
  • Clean all windows
  • Make sure all light bulbs work and are the same color
  • Remove seasonal decorations
  • Remove any pet beddings, toys, and dishes
  • Tuck all electrical cords

Living Room:

  • Hide remote controls
  • Clear floors and surfaces of clutter
  • Arrange furniture to best showcase features
  • Open drapes
  • Dust and vacuum

Kitchen:

  • Remove any dishes from sink
  • Remove free-standing trash cans
  • Remove magnets and clutter from refrigerator
  • Hide countertop appliances
  • Remove sponges and cleaning supplies

Bedrooms:

  • Remove all clutter from floors
  • Make Beds
  • Place laundry and personal effects in closet or cabinets
  • Organize or remove toys
  • Make sure items under beds are not visible

Bathrooms:

  • Put toilet seats down
  • Empty shower of shampoo and conditioners
  • Remove all toiletries from countertops
  • Remove plungers, toilet scrubbers, and trash cans
  • Clean shower glass and mirrors
  • Ensure all light bulbs are working and are same color

Exterior:

  • Remove cars from driveway
  • Hide trashcans
  • Roll up garden hose
  • Mow lawn
  • Sweep pathways
  • Remove BBQ Grill covers
  • Ensure outdoor furniture is free of debris
